Our warm and inviting studio is perfect for solo practice, one-on-one lessons, group rehearsals, and sing-alongs - all of which have been thoroughly tested in the space!  Rent your own weekly "studio slot" or book a one-time rehearsal to help prep the band for that special show. 

The Lounge serves as a comfortable waiting room for students and parents, a quiet breakout space for workshops, and a festive gathering place for events and receptions

We're decking out the Hot Spot Music Studio with fun furnishings and music memorabilia, befitting of our mission to be Northfield's "music incubator."

The Sunday Jazz Jam is open to all instruments and abilities and takes place most Sunday afternoons from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. (check calendar for confirmation).  Musicians gather in a casual, supportive environment to work through charts together.  Charts are provided so it’s easy to follow along. A great way to learn new tunes and try new things - join us!

Our piano tuner tells us that we're in the lucky 2% of people who pick up a free piano on Craig's list that's actually a keeper.  Our faithful rescue was saved from the dumpster in the nick of time after spending many decades in a historic Lake Nokomis home that was being emptied out for construction.  This lovely 1930's Gulbrandsen upright has the perfect tone to articulate a Chopin nocturn or bang out a honky tonk blues.  It's just one of the many perks you'll enjoy when you rent a Hot Spot Studio Slot.  (Photo credit: Martha Larson)
