Experience a hybrid mix of rhythms and musical influences from Brazil & New Orleans featuring two Pifanos & three drummers. A short set will be followed by a hands-on workshop where participants can try out any instrument in the group.
Dan Newton, Tom Klein and Renee Vaughan bring you luscious accordion, bubbling Uillean pipes, and haunting nyckelharpa, (keyed-fiddle) to create a unique multi-layered sound of French, Celtic and Scandinavian music. $10 at the door ($5 students)
Hot Spot Music's resident banjo instructor, Helen Forsythe, hosts a lightly facilitated bluegrass and old time jam (all instruments welcome, but banjos guaranteed)
Open to musicians of all ages and abilities, the Sunday open jazz jam is a perfect way to run through standard charts in a low-key, laid-back setting.
Join us for a chance to perform on stage in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Great way to stretch your comfort zone or get ready for that next big gig! Suggested donation: $5 (supports arts activities)
