" As a way to give a second life to string instruments that have been damaged beyond repair, two Northfield women are in the midst of organizing the first Painted Violin fundraiser — an effort that will benefit the Northfield Public School Orchestra Program. The fundraiser will pair 13 discarded instruments — 12 violins and one cello — with area artists, who then turn the instruments into works of art."
